Nirvana Guernsey holds a Master of Music degree in music performance and currently performs with the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra. She is the flute coach for the Mt. Baker Youth Symphony and often performs in the Starry Night Chamber Ensemble. Ms. Guernsey has been performing with the symphony for 7 years and has taught flute lessons to all ages for 17 years. She has performed at numerous weddings and private gatherings. Her chamber group, The Tritones, has performed regularly at the Skylark's cafe, for numerous art walks, special event dinners, weddings and receptions in Friday Harbor and Bellingham. Ms. Guernsey has been chosen to perform in masterclasses at the Juilliard School with Jeanne Baxtresser, in Great Britain with William Bennett, and locally with Jeffrey Khaner, Trevor Wye and Amy Porter. She also performed two years in a row at Seattle principal piccoloist Zart Dombourian-Eby's masterclasses and has studied orchestral excerpts with her for several years.
